Dr. Kevin Birusingh was born and raised in western Iowa. His father was a general surgeon and his mother a teacher. He is one of 7 children. He is proud to be a founding member of Urology Center of Iowa.
He was drawn to urology because of the broad scope of procedures performed and the lifelong relationships formed with patients. He has an interest in bladder cancer, prostate cancer, kidney cancer, BPH/enlarged prostate, and stone disease. He performs robotic surgery (Da Vinci), laparoscopic surgery, and open surgery for various conditions. He uses the no scalpel vasectomy technique and also has experience with microscopic surgery for vasectomy reversal. He also has experience with both Greenlight photovaporization and UroLift for BPH. He has been designated as a Center of Excellence for the UroLift procedure.
Dr. Birusingh has lived in Des Moines with his wife, Linsey Birusingh, and two daughters, Siri and Aria, since finishing residency in 2013. They love spending time together as a family.
